Founder and Chief Operating Officer Remy Shaffer Gomes
Casey and Remy met at the University of Maryland College Park (go Terps!) After an incredible college experience, their Alma Mater selected them as winners of their “Dream Wedding Contest” in 2005. They could not imagine a better way to have begun their journey as a married couple. After successfully operating a consulting company for ten years, Parents Inspire is a passion that they pursue together.
Casey Gomes, MS
Casey Gomes is an entrepreneur and a self-starter. He launched his own consulting company in his 20s. Amidst the major life change of becoming a father, Casey realized he could proactively build the life he and his wife wanted for their family. He discovered that being a parent does not limit our creative ability or time availability, in fact, it snaps into focus the need to live life with intention.
After spending years working with multi-billion dollar companies in almost every industry, and executives from across the globe, Casey partnered with his wife Remy to start Parents Inspire. He leads Inspire Summits with organizations across the country, connecting with families and corporations on a regular basis. Casey engages and inspires audiences big and small – from TV and radio shows, to keynote addresses, executive sessions, and working groups.
Remy Shaffer Gomes, MS
Remy Shaffer Gomes is an accidental fundraiser (nobody grows up saying they want to spend their life asking other people for money). She currently works as a part-time development consultant for a small non-profit in West Virginia. She is the proud graduate of University of Maryland with a BA in Communication where she returned after graduate school to hone her professional skills working in the Student Affairs Office of Development and External Relations. She is still closely involved with UMD and serves as the Chair for the Adele’s Circle of Women mentoring group. She also holds an MS in College Student Personnel Administration from Miami University. Remy believes in the transformative power of education – both in and outside of the classroom – and that connection to the world around you begins at home.
Remy believes she “lives the dream” in that she is able to place her values in action daily. Her favorite roles, by far, happen within the framework of her family. She feels blessed beyond measure to be a full-time wife, mom, sister, and daughter and to have meaningful part-time work that enables her to put her family first.
